century ago.<\/p>\n<p>Initially, it was as a school of masters in the territory of Lavra, Kyiv specialised<\/p>\n<p>school of applied art and afterwards -Kyiv\u00a0 art and industry college.<\/p>\n<p>A lot of people were involved in this activity.Among them\u00a0 were the first K.Bilokur prize winner M.Tymchenko,people's artist of Ukraine M.Pryimachenko, I.Skytsiuk, I.Honchar, T.Pata, P.Hlushchenko, N.Vovk,P.Vlasenko, O.Kulyk, O.Hriadunova and others.<\/p>\n<p>In 1999 according to the regulation of the Cabinet of ministers of Ukraine, the institute (now the academy) took a worthy place among art higher educational institutions of Ukraine.<\/p>\n<p>Since then, the Institute (today - academy) has had a name after Mykhailo Boichuk, the outstanding artist,the founder of the Ukrainian school of monumental art. According to the letter of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine No. 748 dated 04.07.2018 the Mykhailo Boichuk Kyiv State Institute of Decorative -Applied Arts and Design was renamed into Mykhailo Boichuk Kyiv State Academy of Decorative-Applied Arts and Design.<\/p>\n<h5 style=\"text-align: center;\"><b><strong>Prominent figures of culture and art involved in the establishment and arts of Ukraine),Valentyn Serhieiev, Valerii Fedichev,Olena Vladymyrova,Leonid Sotnyk,Alla Rudenchenko ( DSc),Oleh Kardash( DSc, professor),Serhii Chyrchyk(DSc),Volodymyr Tymenko(DSc) and other
