Olena Osadcha was born on June 9 in Rivne, Ukraine.

1990-1997 – study at the Taras Shevchenko State art secondary school.

1997-2003 – study at The National Academy of Fine Arts and Architecture, the faculty of painting (the workshop of the historical painting by Professor Humenyuk F. M.), specialty “Fine art and decorative applied art”, and the qualification – artist-painter.

2006-2009 – post-graduate studies at the Mykhailo Boichuk Kyiv State Institute of Decorative Applied Arts and Design.

  • Member of the National Union of icon painters of Ukraine (2017).
  • PhD in art research, specialty - theory and history of culture (26.00.01), the dissertation research paper “The Ukrainian Home Icon-Image in the End of the 18th-20th Centuries as an Ethnic Cultural Phenomenon (History, Typology, Artistic Specifics)” (2010).

Olena Osadcha has 16-year’s experience of the scientific and pedagogical work, passed a way, starting from the position of postgraduate researcher, the chief of the laboratory, the teacher, the senior lecturer, the associate professor, the professor and the dean to the rector.

She works in the field of the painting and the sacral art.

Her art works are in the private collections in Ukraine (Kyiv, Lviv, Rivne) and abroad (Poland, Germany, Italy, Portugal) in the collection of the Lviv Museum of the history of religion, in the Ukrainian Antarctic station “Academician Vernadsky”.

For more than fifteen years, Olena Osadcha has been studying the Ukrainian home icon painting of the end of the eighteenth century and the beginning of the twentieth century, the influence of the Byzantine style on the style conception of the Ukrainian icon painting and the phenomenon of the poly stylistics of the contemporary Ukrainian icon. In the pedagogical practice, she provides the author’s method of icon painting teaching, system of which is based on the fundamental principles of the form creation in this art field and studies the principles of the monumental school of boichukists.

On the year of 2022 the scientific base is following: the creation of the educational professional magisterial program in the field of knowledge 02 “Culture and art” specialty 023 “Fine art, decorative art, restoration” for the  faculty of the decorative applied art of the Mykhailo Boichuk Kyiv State Academy of Decorative Applied Arts and Design (2017), educational programs (12), educational methodical guidebooks (2), research papers (44), scientific practical conferences (31), opponent evaluation of the dissertations (13).
