Mykhailo Boichuk Kyiv Slate Academy of Decorative-Applied Arts and Design (Mykhailo Boichuk KSADAAD) is an arts institution of higher education, the main purpose of which is preparing specialists on the basis of the traditions of national and world culture.
Since 1938, the Institute has originally been named The Kyiv Republican Art and Industrial School, reorganized in 1950 into The Kyiv School of Applied Arts, and since 1963 into The Kyiv Art and Industrial College.
Mykhailo Boichuk Kyiv State Academy of Decorative-Applied Arts and Design was founded in October 1999 on the basis of the Kiev Art and Industrial College. Since then the Academy has been named after the outstanding artist Mykhailo Boichuk, the founder of the Ukrainian school of monumental art.with watershed events in the history of Ukrainian national science and education.
Management body: Ministry of Culture and Informational policy of Ukraine.

During your stay, the Department of Innovation and International Relations and Faculty Coordinator will provide you with practical support and regularly organise social and cultural events offering you the opportunity to get acquainted with Ukrainian culture and habits.
At Mykhailo Boichuk KSADAAD you can study at Bachelor, Master’s, PhD Degrees levels. If you wish to study at Mykhailo Boichuk KSADAAD, we expect you to have studied at a similar level at your home institution. We also expect you to have finished your first year before you come to Mykhailo Boichuk KSADAAD for a study period or practice placement.
Training of specialists with higher education is carried out in the fieldof the following knowledge 02 Culture and Arts in the following qualifications:
- 023 Fine Arts, Decorative Art, Restoration;
- 022 Design.
Levels of Higher Education:
- the first (bachelor's) level;
- the second (master's) level.
Higher education on each level of higher education is the basis for obtaining a corresponding degree of higher education:
- Bachelor’s degree;
- Master’s degree;
Terms of training:
- Bachelor - 3 years 10 months;
- Master - 1 year 6 months.
The professional training is earned out by two faculties:
- Faculty' of Decorative and Applied Arts;
- Faculty of Design.
Post-graduate Education: the third (doctor’s) level

If you are a student and you wish to come to Mykhailo Boichuk KSADAAD for an exchange programme, please make sure that your home institution is among Mykhailo Boichuk KSADAAD’s partner institutions.
Only students from partner institutions can take part in an exchange programme at Mykhailo Boichuk KSADAAD.
When to apply
The application deadlines for exchange at Mykhailo Boichuk KSADAAD are:
Autumn Semester:
April 1st: Students who need a visa
Spring Semester:
October 1st: Students who need a visa
You have to be nominated by your home institution for an exchange programme at Mykhailo Boichuk KSADAAD. When you have been nominated, you will receive documents to be sent to our email.
When your application has been processed, you will receive an e-mail from Mykhailo Boichuk KSADAADto inform you whether you have been accepted. If you have been accepted, you will receive further information about your upcoming exchange programme at Mykhailo Boichuk KSADAAD.
Academic Calendar:
An academic year at Mykhailo Boichuk KSADAAD begins on September 1 and is completed in June next year.
Required Documents
Step 1. Apply for the invitation to study at the Mykhailo Boichuk KSADAAD:
- Application form.
- Prepare the motivation letter. Please describe your motivation in choosing the major.
- Prepare a copy of your passport first page.
- Prepare a copy of your education certificate with grades (translated into Ukrainian) obtained as well as academic transcript.
Step 2. Invitation Letter
HOW TO GET INVITATION LETTER?
The Registrar’s Office will examine your documents and assess if the applicant’s grades are sufficient for a study of the major chosen at the faculty selected. In case of a positive decision, Mykhailo Boichuk KSADAAD will issue a Letter of Invitation to apply for a long-term visa for study at the Acaemy. You will need to present this invitation to the Ukrainian Embassy/Consulate for your home country to obtain a Student Visa. Please visit «Going to Ukraine: visa and rules» for more information.
Go to Step 3 only when you have a positive reply from the Academy!
Step 3. Prepare documents to bring with you for enrolment:
- Personal application form in the prescribed format.
- A passport with the Ukrainian visa.
- Original and a notarized copy (in Ukrainian) of the document on previouseducation with transcripts.
- Copy of birth certificate.
- Health insurance, unless otherwise provided by international treaties of Ukraine;
- 4 photos sized 30x40 mm.
- Certificate of a foreign Ukrainian (if available).
NOTE:
Documents, stated in subparagraphs 3-5 of this list, must be translated into the Ukrainian language with a notarized translations.
Translated documents must be certified in a country of their issue, in a way that is officially used in this country for such certification, and legalized by the appropriate foreign diplomatic institution of Ukraine, unless otherwise is stipulated by international agreements of Ukraine.
